When you're a girl on a budget like me, you learn how to stretch a paycheck so that you can still afford social outings like wine nights and dinner at your favorite restaurant.
One way you can really cut corners without regrets is by saying hasta luego to the department store makeup and hello to Target's makeup section. I'm here to tell you that there are SO many options that nobody would ever know are from the drug store.
Recently, I've found a few items that really pass the test, so without further adieu, here are a few items that I'm really loving!

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation I really LOVE this stuff. For the past few months, I've been using the Fit Me Shine eliminating foundation stick. This was really nice for when it was humid and hot out but now that its going to be colder and dryer, my complexion is going to need a bit more help. I am a sucker for the dewy skin look and this is the perfect way to get it. It isn't heavy like most liquid foundations and from what I've found, a little bit goes a long way (translation: serious budget find) and it lasts all day. I'm pale so I wear Buff Beige 130.
Maybelline DreamLumi Touch Highlighting Concealer NOT to be confused as a concealer alternative, this is the perfect highlighter. Use this once you've completed your face makeup routine. If you're into contouring, this is amazing for the bridge of your nose and corner of your eyes.
Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel Seriously a game changer. Make your at home manicure stretch out for at least a week. This top coat makes your nails look like they have gel-shiny and strong. BUY IT NOW!!
Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick I'm really into matte lipsticks right now. I feel like they aren't as over the top as a bright gloss. This lipstick really stands the test of time. I bought "Trendsetter" because its a gorgeous raspberry red color. I highly recommend this!
NYX Matte Lipstick Another Matte Lipstick I love. This one I bought in "Pale Pink" for that nude lip look. Very early 2000's Kate Moss if you ask me.
I LOVE the NYX cream stick blush! It's not as sparkly as Nars Orgasm The Multiple. Also, that was awkward typing that out. Anyway, love it! Didn't love the NYX eye shadow though. :(
ReplyDeleteI have been a Bobbi Brown foundation lover for quite some time now, but I hate what I pay for it! I pulled this blog post up on my phone yesterday while in Target, and I picked up the Fit Me foundation. It works great AND it's a fraction of the cost! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like it. I agree, it's always painful paying too much for makeup when there are more budget friendly alternatives that work just as well. Last week I was with a friend when she bought foundation from La Mer. She's been using it for years so she'll be harder to convert. It should be easy when she sees a savings of over $100 for one bottle! Oh and if you want a fuller coverage, try the Revlon color stay translucent powder. It will give a perfect airbrushed look!
